About

Sophia Attebery is a multidisciplinary creative practitioner working at the intersection of movement, film, and technology. As a Pilates instructor, she brings a rigorous foundation in movement science through Polestar Comprehensive Pilates training and a BA in Dance from Oberlin College, working with private clients across Martha’s Vineyard, New York City, and the Hudson Valley.

As a dance film producer, Sophia creates spaces for choreographers and filmmakers to collaborate through labs, workshops, and festivals. Her own creative work has been recognized internationally, reflecting her interest in the relationship between embodied movement and visual storytelling. Her experience also spans nonprofit leadership and arts administration, where she has developed programs, strengthened community engagement, and supported the growth of cultural organizations.

Sophia’s practice is guided by the belief that movement, healing, and creative exploration are deeply interconnected. This philosophy informs how she teaches, produces, and builds — bringing together embodied research, artistic collaboration, and systems thinking. She holds a Documentary Filmmaking Certificate from Prague Film School and continues to study movement science, traditional healing systems, and the evolving language of visual storytelling.
